This fall I'm leading a "growth group" (kind of a Bible study discussion group) for some of our short term volunteers at YWAM Maui (we call them Mission Builders). The guys that are in my group are Andreas and Jonathan, two European guys that are really fun.
Jonathan is always fun to be around
Jonathan comes from Sweeden and is a musician who can play just about any instrument he picks up. He's already joined in with our worship team playing bass and guitar at our Monday and Friday morning worship times. He has a great zeal for life and is always excited to go hiking, cliff jumping, and camping.
Andreas would be windsurfing everyday if he had a car!
Andreas is from Switzerland and is a windsurfer who is typically Swiss in that he likes to be very productive. We're the same age, and I really like hanging out with him on the weekends and talking about where we come from and the differences in our cultures.
Both of these guys come to YWAM Maui looking for direction from God in their lives, so I've chosen for us to read the book "Visioneering" by Andy Stanley for our growth group time. I haven't read it yet, but I've heard some really good things about it from my roommates and other people on staff here. I also have been wanting to read this book, but haven't found the time, so I can't wait to get started.

I'm excited to see what God does in the lives of Jonathan and Andreas in these next few months. Please pray for them as it is sometimes hard for them to be in American culture. Our food is strange for them (Jonathan had to make biscuits and gravy this morning and didn't know what the heck that was!), and it is always difficult to be away from family and friends for long periods of time.
So I'm getting married in less than 2 weeks and we are going to the Big Island for our honeymoon. Just thought I'd say I'm coming to the island.
