Here we go!

I'm finally in Maui! It's been a long process, but I've finally made it to YWAM Maui and everything is good over here.

Wednesday was the epitome of a stressful day. I didn't get much sleep the night before my flight, had to get up early, fight traffic to the airport, and of course have the bittersweet moments of going out to serve with YWAM, but leaving Mom and Dad, friends and family, and home.

I got to the terminal in the airport to find that there were 19 people flying on standby, and that I was on the waiting list to get on the plane. After a few minutes, they let me on, only to ask me to get off the plane because they didn't have room. I thought I would be on standby for the rest of the day, but right before the flight attendant closed the cabin, she told me there was a seat free and I could get back on. I guess dressing well and being polite actually do pay off in the airport!

Once I got to my layover in Salt Lake City, I found out that I got bumped up to first class for the remainder of my trip (a six and a half hour flight direct to Maui). I was in seat 1D and It was absolutely amazing. A huge thank you to JP Whitley for letting me use a Buddy Pass!

I got to Maui and was only able to stay up until 8:30. I was so tired and slept until 8 the next morning, which felt amazing. Thursday, I went into town and bought a pillow, soap, towels, and all the other stuff that was too big or messy to take on the plane. I also went searching for a new surfboard, and found a great deal on a very slightly used 6'0" Superfish (I realize this means nothing to most of you, but it's exactly the kind of board I was looking for and it was about half the price it should have been). I'm really excited to go out Saturday with some old friends and test it out.

Today (Friday), I have New Staff Orientation, and my first meeting with the Communication Department where I'll be working this fall. It's a lot of logistics at this point, but I'm excited and ready to hit the ground running on Monday.

Thanks to all of you who are supporting me, and if you know of anyone else who might be interested in receiving updates or supporting my ministry, just shoot me an e-mail at bryancfarrar@gmail.com or call me (404) 213-3740. Sorry there's no pictures, I have to go to a meeting now, but I promise I'll put some up later today or tomorrow!

Ack! I totally forgot to return your call. I realized it Wednesday and didn't want to crunch into you last night with people who were physically present. : ) I figured a call from me whether you were in Georgia or Maui would be about the same. Now that you're settled in I'll try to give a call this weekend. If I forget again, you're totally allowed to hate me. But only for a month. Then you need to let go and move on.
